As a Pittsburgh senior photographer, and since I am getting more and more inquiries for senior photo sessions, one of the questions I get asked the most is, “Where should we go for my session?” Pittsburgh is full of incredible locations that fit every style and personality. Whether you love wide-open nature or modern city architecture, there’s a spot that’s perfect for your senior photos.

I started photography in 2010, and now I am having more and more kids who I photographed as babies graduating from high school. Crazy to think I’ve been doing something I love for that long already, and I feel lucky to have watched these kids grow up! So while I am mainly a newborn photographer, I love that families want to keep using me through the years.

Here are some of my favorite locations to consider:

1. Mingo Creek Park – Finleyville, PA

If you love nature, rustic bridges, and wide-open fields, Mingo Creek Park is a perfect choice. This location is known for its covered bridges, tree-lined paths, and rolling hills that really show off the beauty of each season.

  • Perfect for: Nature lovers, athletes who want to include sports shots on open fields, or anyone who feels most comfortable outdoors.

2. Mellon Park – Shadyside

Mellon Park offers a mix of manicured gardens, stone walls, and open green spaces. It’s also home to the popular Walled Garden, which is absolutely magical in the spring and summer months.

  • Perfect for: Seniors looking for a classic, elegant feel with flowers, greenery, and beautiful architecture.

For a modern, industrial vibe with Pittsburgh’s skyline as your backdrop, The Highline is one of the most unique spots in the city. With exposed brick, staircases, and rooftop views, it’s great for seniors who want something a little different and bold.

4. Hartwood Acres Mansion – Hampton Township

This location feels like stepping onto the grounds of a European estate. With its stunning stone mansion, formal gardens, and wooded trails, Hartwood Acres is both timeless and elegant.
