Wedding: Meredith & Evan, The Priory, Pittsburgh, PA

Weddings

Where to begin…
I first met these two at Meredith’s sister’s wedding a couple years ago. When discussing their wedding and timeline, they were adamant about being able to spend a lot of time with their guests. I was immediately impressed at how grateful they were to the people who have made the experience of their relationship and journey that much better. I always say I somehow book clients who are so wonderful, but Meredith and Evan are truly two of the most kind and humble people.

Their wedding day, November 9, 2019, started across the street from the reception venue, The Priory, in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the usual busy and fun atmosphere of wedding prep, and my second shooter, Hannah, went over to the hotel to catch some time with the guys. Meredith and Evan decided to do a first look so they could spend more time at their cocktail hour (such a good idea by the way). So we set it up in the little garden next to the townhouse. Evan waited patiently with their adorable dog, Pippa, for Meredith to tap him on the shoulder. After they had a few moments together we headed over to Allegheny Commons Park with the whole bridal party. I’m SO happy there were still colorful leaves on the trees to add just a little pop to their pictures. It was a cold day, but these guys and Pippa rocked the photos!

The ceremony took place at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Pittsburgh, PA. First of all, it was gorgeous, and so was the ceremony. There are many unique parts to a Greek Orthodox wedding, such as the Crowning the the Ceremonial Walk. I love switching things up and seeing how people come together no matter what traditions are involved.

We headed back to Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at The Priory for the reception which was decorated beautifully. With two bands and an amazing Pittsburgh cookie table, the scene was set for some great music, yummy food, and such a good time! Their first dance song was “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” one of my favorites because, well, who doesn’t love Dirty Dancing?! But what I loved about it was that they began to dance with each other and then pulled their bridal party in from each side to join them. I loved the gesture because it showed how important their family and friends are to them. My favorite part of the evening was when Meredith and Evan gave a speech to all their family and friends, as well as the vendors. We don’t always get a shoutout, and I thought it was just the absolute sweetest thing. It went a long way in showing just how thankful they were for everyone’s support and love.

Enjoy!

Meredith’s dress was a stunner. Definitely one of my favorites!
