Wedding: Libby + James, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Farmington, PA

Weddings

June 17, 2018, Libby and James were married at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. It was a small, intimate affair that made me take a step back and see what really makes a wedding day so special. I met the bride in her room with her mother and her daughter. We hadn’t had much communication before that day, but I kind of felt like I already knew them. Sometimes, I get clients that are so unbelievably kind that I wonder how I got to be so lucky! I loved that everything was a bit slower-paced, and I could take my time to be a little more artistic and editorial than usual. And Libby’s daughter was so much fun to be around! She was our helper for the day. So sweet and sassy, she had us laughing so much, and she was posing like a little rockstar!

We headed down to James’ room next. Again, such a kind and fun person! The guys chilled on the balcony while I did my thing. You’ll see James’ pineapple socks down below. They were actually picked by Libby because he’s such a fan of Spongebob Squarepants. See how adorable these guys are?!

We headed back to the girls’ room to get some pictures of Libby getting in to her dress, but wait until you see the ones where her dad sees her for the first time. Ah, I love moments like that.

Next, we headed to the rooftop of the Lodge, where James was waiting to do a first look. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location. The mountains in the background made for the perfect setup, and the pair of them looked stunning together. Plus, we had a good laugh when Libby decided to pinch James’ rump to let him know he could turn around!

After spending some time with just the bride and groom for portraits around the Chateau, we headed to Mulligan’s for the ceremony and reception. What a view! And again, when Libby danced with her dad, I started to get teary. I’m not really an emotional person, but their connection was a sight. And then James danced with Libby’s daughter to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” and not a person in the room wasn’t smiling.

I absolutely loved this wedding, not just for the location and the beautiful day, but because we got to capture something sweet for some of the best people I’ve met.

Enjoy!!!

Libby had a second dress for the reception. So much fun!

Something blue.

James had some pretty dapper shoes!

Shoutout to my second shooter, Hannah, for this next set of groom pictures!

LOVE!

Needless to say, James was a little surprised at Libby’s pinch!

Who says the bride can’t twirl the groom, too?!

They had fun with this next room.

Instead of others giving toasts, James and Libby stood together to toast their family and friends for being there for them that day. Isn’t the the loveliest thing?
