Let me just say, I was so honored that Katie and Megan picked me as their wedding photographer. Christian W. Klay Winery is a venue I have been wanting to photograph for awhile now. I am a big fan of their grounds and barn, and especially a huge fan of their wine. I immediately liked Katie and Megan the first time we met. They were super laid-back and friendly. And they were also so much fun during the engagement session at PNC Park later on. They sent me home with wine, and somehow knew my favorite blush. And yet again, they gifted me another bottle at the wedding, along with chocolate cake 😉 That just tells you how truly thoughtful and kind they are.

These two ladies not only love each other, but are best friends in every sense, and that is how I know they will always be together. I am so happy I got to be a witness to that and to document the love they have for each other, as well as the love and support both their families have for their marriage.

The day started off with prepping at the Hilton Garden Inn in Uniontown, PA. This is a fairly newer hotel to the area, and it was gorgeous inside. The rooms had tons of window light, which photogs, like me, always appreciate, as well as stylish pieces of furniture and artwork. The ground floor had a fireplace and this cute “chill” area with a feature brick wall that we used for a first look. We were not originally planning one, but when the day called for rainy weather, we had more than enough options at the hotel.

The white barn at Christian W. Klay Winery provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, even though that, too, was originally supposed to be outside. There’s just something about twinkle lights that make a space more magical! The rest of the evening was filled with some sweet dance moves and, of course, jello shots!
